It is an honor to collaborate with farmers, scientists, designers and artisans toward creating low carbon, regional products made completely from fibers and natural dyes solely sourced within a geographical region no larger than 150 miles. It’s a project we call Fibershed. Our premise is simple:
local fiber + local color + local labor
Simple as this equation sounds, achieving all three together has proven to be quiet complex. You can follow or join our journey here: www.fibershed.com.
Fibershed is a non-profit organization that provides experiential education that both generates awareness, and teaches the necessary skills within our community to build and sustain a thriving bioregional textile culture that functions hand-in-hand with principles of ecological balance, local economies, and regional organic agriculture.
